Azithromycin syrup is commonly prescribed for children to treat:

1. Acute Otitis Media – middle ear infections

2. Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis – throat infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (when first-line treatment is not suitable)

3. Community-Acquired Pneumonia

4. Sinusitis – when caused by susceptible bacteria

5. Skin and soft tissue infections

6. Certain diarrheal diseases – such as travelers’ diarrhea or campylobacter enteritis

💊 Dosage Guidelines (Pediatric)

📌 Example Dosing (For 15 kg Child):

• Day 1 (10 mg/kg): 150 mg → 7.5 mL

• Days 2–5 (5 mg/kg): 75 mg → 3.75 mL daily

👉 One 30 mL bottle provides 600 mg of Azithromycin, sufficient for:

• Full 5-day course for a child ~15 kg, or

• Shorter course for smaller children
